📄 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that he is considering a “major deal” with U.S. President Donald Trump involving the purchase of Ukrainian-made drones.

In an interview with the New York Post, Zelensky said the potential agreement would reverse the traditional arms relationship—rather than Ukraine purchasing large quantities of American weapons, the U.S. is now exploring the acquisition of Ukrainian drones that have been combat-tested against Russia.

He noted that his recent meeting with President Trump focused on fostering bilateral support for aviation technology. Ukraine has offered to share all its accumulated battlefield knowledge from the three years of war with Russia.

Ukrainian drones are known for their capability to strike targets up to 1,300 kilometers from the border and have played a critical offensive role in the conflict. Last month, Ukraine executed the “Spiderweb Operation,” which successfully targeted Russian airbases and destroyed 41 bomber aircraft.

Military analysts suggest that a successful deal could mark a turning point for the U.S. military and national security, given that American drone technology is currently seen as lagging behind that of Russia and China.

President Zelensky emphasized that the latest generation of domestically-produced drones can penetrate Russian defense networks and destroy strategic bombers. “The U.S. needs this technology,” he said. “It would be a huge, mutually beneficial deal.”

He added that Ukraine is ready to share this capability with the U.S. and European allies, and discussions are already underway with Denmark, Norway, and Germany.

If finalized, this deal could initiate a broader Western reliance on Ukrainian drone technology and redefine strategic alliances in aerial warfare. It may also intensify Russia’s retaliatory measures against Ukrainian drone programs.
