Most anticipated Malayalam films launched recently

2025 was an eventful year for Malayalam cinema, which continues its golden run with some of the most gifted young filmmakers and actors working currently. The year also witnessed the launch of many exciting projects. Here are the top picks:

Drishyam 3

After a brief period of uncertainty, writer-director Jeethu Joseph confirmed a third Drishyam film, reuniting him with superstar Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor. Further details of the film are yet unknown.

Kalamkaval

In yet another intriguing project from Mammootty's home banner MammoottyKampany, the actor plays the principal antagonist opposite Vinayakan in an example of unconventional casting. It marks the directorial debut of Jithin K Jose.

Nobody | Vilayath Buddha

Prithviraj Sukumaran has two eagerly awaited films coming up: a new film directed by Nissam Basheer, known for 'Rorschach' and 'Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha'; and 'Vilayath Buddha', based on GR Indugopan's novel.

Mollywood Times

After the success of Premalu and Alappuzha Gymkhana, Naslen teams up for the first time with Mukundan Unni Associates director Abhinav Sunder Nayak for a film backed by Thallumala and Anjaam Pathira producer Aashiq Usman.

Diés Iraé

The Pranav Mohanlal-led horror thriller reunites writer-director Rahul Sadasivan with Bramayugam and Bhoothakalam cinematographer Shehnad Jalal and Night Shift Studios and Y Not Studios, the banners that also produced Bramayugam.

I'm Game

Dulquer Salmaan returns to Malayalam cinema after two years to collaborate with Nahas Hidayath, known for his blockbuster directorial debut RDX. Tamil actor-filmmaker Mysskin makes his Malayalam debut in this one.

Mirage

After Kishkindha Kaandam, actors Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali are reuniting for the 6th time in Jeethu Joseph's next film, titled Mirage. It also marks Asif's reunion with the director after their hit thriller Kooman.
