The UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced a Dh750 million enhancement project for Emirates Road, set to begin in September 2025 and finish within two years.

The plan includes expanding the road from three to five lanes in each direction over a 25-km stretch, increasing capacity by 65% to 9,000 vehicles per hour.

The project also includes upgrading Interchange No. 7 with six new bridges and creating 3.4 km of collector roads to improve traffic flow between Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.
