Sheikha Asma Al Thani, a Qatari royal and mountaineer, has made history as the first woman from Qatar to summit Nanga Parbat, Pakistan’s 8,126-metre “Killer Mountain.”
Battling fierce snowstorms and treacherous terrain, she raised Qatar’s flag atop the world’s ninth-highest peak.
This marks her ninth successful ascent in her mission to conquer all 14 of the world’s 8,000-metre mountains.
