Set to open in December this year, the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi is being built to honour the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the museum’s striking structure features five steel towers inspired by the wings of a falcon in flight — a tribute to falconry, a deeply rooted element of Emirati culture.
The museum will offer immersive exhibitions, community programs, and research initiatives that reflect Sheikh Zayed’s values of humanitarianism, sustainability, and cultural preservation. Visitors can explore six permanent galleries across two floors, covering 300,000 years of human history, along with a space for rotating exhibitions.
