Saudi Arabia has launched a trial of autonomous vehicles in Riyadh, marking a significant step toward building a smart, AI-powered transport system under Vision 2030.

Led by Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser and supervised by the Transport General Authority, the vehicles will operate across key areas, including King Khalid International Airport and major city routes, with safety officers onboard.

This initiative supports sustainable mobility and economic growth through advanced technology. The project involves public-private partnerships with entities like Uber, WeRide, and AiDriver.

Al-Jasser highlighted its role in improving quality of life and regulatory development.
