Saudi Arabia has launched a 12-month pilot of self-driving taxis in Riyadh, marking a major milestone in its Vision 2030 initiative.
The autonomous vehicles, deployed at seven key locations including King Khalid Airport and Princess Nourah University, aim to modernize urban mobility and cut emissions.
Spearheaded by SDAIA and supported by major public-private partners like AiDriver, WeRide, and Uber, the trial includes real-time AI navigation, onboard safety officers, and 13 dedicated stations.
This groundbreaking initiative reflects the Kingdom’s push for smart, sustainable, and tech-driven transport.
