📄 Russia’s aerial assault on Ukraine persists, with multiple strikes reported across the country overnight. In northeastern Kharkiv, several areas were hit, sparking fires and injuring a 46-year-old woman.

The southeastern region of Zaporizhzhia was also targeted by drone attacks, resulting in damage to civilian businesses, farms, and warehouses. Drone strikes and explosions were likewise reported in the southern city of Mykolaiv.

According to Russian state media, air raid alerts were issued early this morning in four regions: Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv. Alerts had previously been sounded in Kyiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv.

Russia’s military has been intensifying its offensive, launching what has been described as the largest air assault since the war began — deploying a total of 550 drones and missiles between February 3 and the early hours of February 4.

In a video message posted on X yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the signing of new contracts with U.S. defense firms and European allies to boost drone production.

“We have agreed on a significant effort to ramp up drone manufacturing with a major U.S. company,” Zelensky said, noting that Ukraine aims to produce several hundred thousand drones this year and even more next year.

He also mentioned signing agreements with major partner countries such as Denmark for joint weapons production, including drones.

Russia is expected to maintain or escalate its air campaign in the coming weeks, with Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia remaining primary targets. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defense posture is likely to strengthen as domestic drone production scales up, with Western partnerships playing a pivotal role.

As the conflict grinds on, both sides are intensifying their reliance on drones and aerial warfare. Ukraine’s push to secure long-term defense production deals could become a critical factor in sustaining its resistance.
