In alignment with Dubai’s leadership directives to fast-track infrastructure and enhance road capacity, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the Al Safa Street Improvement Project. The initiative aims to reduce travel time by 75% and double vehicle capacity along a vital traffic corridor.
Spanning 1,500 metres from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Wasl Street, the project includes constructing two bridges and two tunnels with a total length of 3,120 metres. It also features upgrades to surface roads, intersections, and signal systems to improve traffic flow.
Once completed, the travel time on Al Safa Street will drop from 12 to 3 minutes, increasing capacity from 6,000 to 12,000 vehicles per hour. This corridor serves key landmarks like City Walk and Coca-Cola Arena, supporting major events year-round.
