Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) has rolled out a fleet of autonomous electric baggage tractors, marking a major step in aviation innovation.
Deployed by dnata, the six EZTow vehicles by TractEasy can tow up to four luggage containers at 15 km/h, following fixed routes.
This Dh6 million ($1.6M) initiative begins with Level 3 autonomy and will upgrade to full Level 4 by early 2026.
The move aims to improve safety, reduce human error, and allow ground staff to focus on more complex tasks, supporting faster aircraft turnaround times.
