Dubai has introduced 10 days of fully paid marriage leave for Emirati government employees, as per Decree No. (31) of 2025 issued by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.

The leave can be used within a year of the marriage contract—either continuously or intermittently—and can be combined with other types of leave.

The new policy applies to Emiratis in government departments, judicial authorities, military (excluding cadets), and special zones like the DIFC. Conditions include the spouse being Emirati and the marriage occurring after December 31, 2024.
