πΉπ BREAKING: Thailand Captures Phu Ma Khua β Cambodian Major General Killed in Artillery Strike
In a major development on the Thai-Cambodian border, the Royal Thai Army has successfully captured Phu Ma Khua, a key strategic highland position, after intense fighting over the past three days.
During the offensive, Cambodian Major General Duong Somneang, commander of the country’s 7th Infantry Division, was reportedly killed by a Thai artillery strike. His death marks the highest-ranking military casualty since the border clashes began earlier this week.
The seizure of Phu Ma Khua gives Thai forces a significant tactical advantage, enabling observation and control over surrounding terrain. Military analysts believe this could shift the momentum firmly in Thailand’s favor.
The ongoing clashes have left at least 33 people dead β including soldiers and civilians from both countries β and forced more than 130,000 people in Thailand and 38,000 in Cambodia to flee their homes.
Despite growing international calls for a ceasefire, fighting continues along several points of the border, with both sides exchanging heavy artillery and aerial strikes.
Thailand’s Ministry of Defence stated that operations will continue until all military threats near the border are neutralized.
