A former taxi driver in Abu Dhabi has been ordered by court to pay Dh51,450 to his former employer after running a red light and failing to reimburse the company for covering his traffic fines.

Although the original fine was Dh3,000, the company incurred additional Dh50,000 in penalties and Dh1,450 in fees.

The company provided proof of payment, prompting the court to rule in its favor. Despite multiple requests, the driver had not repaid the amount.
