The Bugatti Chiron, unveiled in 2016, is powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine—a rare configuration developed by Volkswagen Group and hand-assembled in Molsheim, France. Each engine takes nearly one week to build, with all components individually tested for precision and balance before installation.
With only 500 units produced worldwide, the Chiron’s engineering is more aerospace than automotive. It features a carbon-fiber monocoque, liquid-cooled brakes, and a titanium exhaust system developed in collaboration with aerospace suppliers. At full throttle, it consumes fuel at 7 mpg—yet it remains one of the most stable cars ever tested at over 250 mph.
