Unlike traditional smoke detectors that react too late, her invention monitors temperature patterns and sends real-time alerts before a fire even starts—giving users a chance to act early and avoid disaster.
Her system earned national recognition at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, where she stood out among 65,000 competitors. During testing, the device achieved a 98% success rate in identifying potential fire risks. Shanya plans to release the device at an affordable price and donate profits to fire relief charities—proving that age is no barrier to innovation with real-world impact.
