A driver in Dubai has been fined AED 50,000 (approx. Rs. 3.8 million) for speeding and illegally using an emergency lane, a serious offense under UAE’s Federal Traffic Law. Dubai Police also seized the driver’s vehicle on the spot.
Authorities stressed that emergency lanes are strictly reserved for ambulances, fire services, and police, and misuse can obstruct life-saving operations. Depending on the violation and the driver’s history, vehicle recovery fees in such cases may reach AED 100,000.
Dubai Police have urged drivers to act responsibly and follow traffic laws, warning that violations involving emergency lanes carry severe consequences.
